Our Team

Brenda Dooley is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of AXIS Healthcare Consulting Ltd (AXIS). She established AXIS in early 2012 to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies achieve success in reimbursement applications for novel and innovative medicines in Ireland. With more than 21 years in Market Access, Brenda is an expert strategist and combines her natural flair for solving complex problems with a genuine interest in helping clients navigate a successful path to reimbursement.

Having developed over 77 Health Technology Assessments, Brenda knows that a personal, customised approach is fundamentally important for successful submissions to agencies such as Irelands NCPE, Scotland’s SMC and BeNeLuxA.

A former Registered General and Paediatric Nurse, Brenda holds a BA (Hons) in Business, a Diploma (Hons) in Financial Management and a MSc (Hons) in Health Economics from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway).

Danya Morton-Holmes is a Strategic Market Access and HTA Advisor to AXIS Consulting Scotland. Danya is a market access specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the international pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices and healthcare industries.

Danya began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of R&D, Clinical Research and Sales & Marketing. She then moved into consultancy, gaining wide-ranging market access/HTA, specialist pharmaceutical/biotechnology and management consultancy experience. She has led and managed a variety of submissions to the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) as well as other European HTA submissions.
Additionally, Danya has delivered successful market access, commercial and technical projects for a range of clients, including private sector pharma/biotech companies, public sector organisations and financial institutions.

Danya holds a BPharm (Hons), a PhD in drug delivery and an MBA (Distinction) from The University of Nottingham. She is also a qualified pharmacist and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Marian Hernon is an Associate Director at AXIS Healthcare Consulting Ltd. Marian has worked in the area of population health and health services research for over 7 years, conducting systematic reviews, developing micro-costing studies and completing cost-effectiveness analysis across the academic and pharmaceutical sectors.

Since joining AXIS, Marian has led on multiple Health Technology Assessments across a range of disease areas including cardiovascular disease, chronic conditions, rare diseases and a range of cancers. Marian has extensive experience in healthcare resource use costing as well as development and adaptation of economic models.

Marian holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Political Science and an MA (Hons) in Population Health and Health Promotion from NUI Galway. She has also completed a number of short courses in health economics and economic modelling with the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York, UK and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

Caroline McNeill is the Office Manager at AXIS Healthcare Consulting Ltd. and brings over 15 years of administrative experience in Office Management and Accounts, Human Resources and Mentoring. Caroline is primarily involved in the effective day to day running of the business, assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures; managing and overseeing the administration of policies, programs and practices within the company; she maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing. Delivering outstanding customer service has always been an essential part of a day’s work for Caroline and she wants to ensure each one of AXIS’s clients has a positive experience. 

Caroline holds an Honours B.A. in Geography and Sociology and Politics, Higher Diplomas in Arts Management and Practice and Adult Education along with qualifications in Coaching and Mentoring, Digital Marketing, Employment Law, Team Leadership, Project Management and Health and Safety.

Rachel Egan is the Marketing Specialist at AXIS Consulting. Rachel matches her academic qualifications with her international marketing experience in the life science arena to support the vision at AXIS Consulting to positively impact patients’ lives by helping to secure market access to important new innovative medicines.

With a MSc Marketing Practice from NUI Galway, Rachel leads on all marketing activities in line with the company’s strategic growth plans.
